This song was first used in one awesome Supernatural vid Ease my Pain made by secretlytodream . I can only wish she made it for Twilight, or at least make one TW vid... What can I say...her vids are amazing!

Notes about the vid

While making this vid I was rereading NM again in order to do it right and I hope I managed to do so. It was never my intention to judge what she does - just showing how she feels.

I did use his face instead just his voice for two reasons: Visuals made the effect better and I suck at sound editing...lol

There are other things too, like the timeline of events, but I decided to go with the song and not be too strict about it, so... the chain of events is the same but interleaved with her dreams (or nightmares) and her memories of him where they shouldn't be (or not to that extent), and also the times before her awakening is out of order. In the end I can only hope I managed to convey her story and her emotions right.

I decided also to leave out Jacob and make it Bella's own, personal universe, to show her feelings and thoughts that she wouldn't let anyone else see, not even Jacob.

That's about it. I really don't like explaining my vids too much. I prefer the viewers to have their own experience and share their thoughts whether they liked it or not :)

Vidder's notes

This is the first vid I made using Vegas Pro 9, first time I used Lagarith codec for editing and the first time I worked with 5 different sources (all in different aspect/ratio, frame rate and region). It was fun :D and I hope I didn't make too much mistakes. One thing is sure - that clear picture I got with Lagarith restrained me from using too many effects and colours...I was too pleased not to see any more flickers and ghosts...lol

I did have real trouble picking the right font and I'm still not satisfied :( I hope the one I used doesn't stick out too much. To make it even harder for me, for some reason (and I didn't have time to investigate why), the text effects little timeline refused to work..gah!..so I was left with pan/crop and fade...

And the colouring...omg the colouring...That took me hours to get it right. One thing is sure...different colourings of the TSaga movies - not good news for vidders...lol


I really tried not to get too depressed while reading the book and making a vid about it but I failed... So my next project would be a fluffy (but not necessarily happy) Moonlight vid ;)...or something completely different :)

That was frakking AMAZING...GODS...You make me just want to throw in the towel on vidding all-together because there is NO way I will ever make anything THAT cool:) Seriously, I think you may be too much of a perfectionist because I thought the text was awesome. Also, A+ on the coloring cause that was just...*happy sigh*

I'm so sorry for Moonlight...it was such a good show. What I liked most is the honesty of Mick & Beth relationship and their dialogues. I hope I'll manage to show it in my vid.

You know the worst part about it? That show had real potential. I mean, Alex was clearly MADE to be a leading man and he had incredible chemistry with Sophia Myles. The supporting cast was also excellent.

I think the main problem the show had was in the writing. Sometimes, it was pretty decent but sometimes...not so much:) However...it had moments of pure brilliance. Like Beth learning of Mick's true nature in the 2nd episode! I was sure they would find a way to drag out that reveal for an entire season! And I loved the whole episode where we learned about Josef's past with Sarah and how that mirrored the struggle Mick & Beth were facing.

Gosh...That cancelation was SUCH a bad move on the part of CBS. I bet they're feeling really stupid now that True Blood has become so popular:)

True Blood AND Twilight too! When I watched it I always felt a strange connection to the Twilight story. Not that they made it anti-Twilight, more like a parallel to that story. There are so many moments that are the same in both stories but they deal with them in a very different and always surprising way. For example, when they are discussing children or their future together, in both stories they have to deal with those problems and they are very honest to each other, but in Moonlight they avoided making a huge deal about it even though you can feel while you watch that it is a big deal.
I'm not sure if I explained it well but that's one of the reasons I liked that show so much. I also liked that other characters aren't black&white only, not stereotype heroes or villains.
And there was such a potential to that story...his ex-wife and her royal family, Josef...
And the chemistry...omg...that was awesome! And the whole cast - such talented actors! The writing could have been better but as in any first season, they needed time to get everything right.
I really hope they fired someone for making a bad decision to cancel this show...lol

I've never seen (or read) any Twilight so I can't form a proper opinion of this, but the editing is beautiful! You make me wanna try Vegas Pro 9 so bad.. just haven't found the time yet :(

I especially like the ending where she was sad and alone again (i guess I have a thing for sad endings lol) and also, I totally couldn't tell you used different sources for this! I only recognized the Amy underwater part of the Lithium video after I read you used it, and I can't find the Dido vid at all, so it works really well.

Sometimes I think I might wanna start watching Twilight (like right now after seeing your vid) but I don't know how I feel about vampires who can go out in daylight (and did I read Edward doesn't like violence or something?) I kinda prefer vampires scary and brooding in the shadows! But I don't know, I might give in one day and totally love it. You should definitely check out True Blood though, for some 'real' vampires ;)

Ah...time...one thing I'm always missing...You really should try it though, Vegas 9 is the best and every new thing they added in this version has so many possibilities.

And don't watch Twilight!...lol..Really, read the book instead (preferably Midnight Sun where Edward isn't so nice at all).
I'm hopeless when it comes to tortured heroes (men or women both!) ...so vampires or not that's the kind of characters I like...and "impossible" love stories.
True Blood is next on my to-watch list ;) I've seen a couple of vids so far and I liked it. Of course, I'm completely spoiled but who cares...lol

I just couldn't get this song out of my head and I had to make a vid to it before everything else on my list.
Just so you know, it's not the whole song - there is one more verse but I had to cut it out. I was short on footage as it is. There is a link in a comment above if you like to have it.

I would like nothing more than to play with music and pictures all day - it's so much fun! - but I'm far off from any decent professional editor even though I'd like to be that good :)

What a stunning video, visually arresting, just gorgeous to look at and expertly edited. There are so many parts I adore, the opening, the dream sequence, the bit at the cliff when the song suddenly changes its mood at 1:59 and of course the ending. I love angsty videos. It's not only well-crafted, I can sense that you've put a lot of heart into this and it paid off. Fantastic job.

You hit the right spot. I did put a lot of heart in it, Sometimes, when I watch, I can almost see some of my feelings and attitude toward some painful (but completely unrelated) things in RL showing of in this vid...but not too much. I just wanted to stay true to the story in the book and hopefully I managed to do it.

And you listed all my fav moments too :) I wish I did some things differently at the beginning and having the latest trailer wouldn't hurt either (but who knows if I'll ever get my hands on HD version).

OMG - first, I can't believe I didn't see that you posted this until now. Second, this is one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen! Ever! I literally got misty-eyed near the end. It was utterly perfect. I love the song choice! The lyrics fit wonderfully and the softness of it makes it even more heartwrenching. The beats at the beginning are perfect too. And I really like the additional stock you used. The search through the forest and the underwater footage was beautiful and you made it flow seamlessly with the rest of the video. And then there was the ending! All the flashbacks and such were wonderfully cut. I love the way you slowed his smile at 2:32. And the lead up to the kiss at the window as opposed to the makeout season was a good choice - it looks so much more tender. Especially followed by the kiss to her forehead. And I really love the effect you did at 2:56. It was the perfect way to end it!

Ok, now I'm going back to watch it another 5 time :)

When I heard that song I had to resist really hard not to use it 'cos it's not a well known song, it's already been done to SPN and by a famous vidder too....and I failed and broken all non-written rules :) Couldn't stop imagining NM vid to that song so I gave up. (..and I just realised I'm quoting Edward...LOL...I'm such a geek...)
It's not the whole song (link to the whole song is up the thread). I changed the beginning, added heartbeat, and cut the middle part and one verse - turned out ok ;) , hopefully different from the original.
My only regret is that I didn't wait for the latest trailer. Who could have hoped that HD downloadable version would appear so fast. Now I'm thinking of adding that footage (that I was desperately missing while making this vid) and do a remake, but I have to finish the vid I'm making now first.
I'm so happy that you liked the ending. It's one of those scenes you make almost by accident, just randomly put the scenes together and it turns out awesome :D Wish that would happen all the time...lol

I think you are missing a codec...I can't see what else could be the reason you can't play the vid. I used Xvid MPEG4 AVC x264 codec to encode it.

I'm trying to do a vid at the moment showing all the sort of flashback parallels Bella draws in New Moon between things that happen and things that went on in Twilight - I'm still in the process of picking the right song and I can't get that beautiful song from your vid out of my head :D The heartbeat you added was perfect! I didn't even realize it wasn't part of the song. Is that from Teardrop?

A remake would be awesome, but it's already great as it is. the fact that you didn't have those other clips forced you to add in different sources and be more creative. Maybe it worked out for the best because I can't imagine a better final product!

Thanks for the codec name. I was missing it - now I can watch ur pretty vid forever and ever. ^_^
