This is my first Dollhouse vid and as much as I wanted to start with a Paul&Mellie vid I just couldn't find the right song so I made this one while I search.
(and I decided to save the kind offer to do beta from
I made this vid very fast (for my standards...lol) and played a lot with effects...and I'm not sure that was a good thing...but, there is only one way to learn.
This one being my third dark and depressive vid, I just wanted to finish it and move on to something light and happy :D but then I remembered Mourn the Fallen challenge at ATS...lol

How did you do that ghosting effect, where someone was lowering their arm and that action repeating a few times, one on top of the other, until they meshed back up?
If you haven't posted this at

Date: 2009-05-03 01:32 pm (UTC)And thanks :D It seems like the faster I make them the better they turn out. But going fast has it's downside. Now I can see that I made some little mistakes. Hopefully everyone will think of them as another effect...lol
If you think about that effect when she's dropping the phone - I copied the same clip, one above the other in 3 video tracks, lowered transparency in 1st and 2nd (hold your mouse at the top of the clip, click left and pull down - you should see a little line moving down and that's transparency level), moved them to the right so they would start later from the clip in the primary track. Then (I think) I cut the ending of the first one (so it would be the same length as the clip on the main track) and I cut the other a little less and then fastened it so the ending would be at the same time as the ending of the clip in the primary track.
I was experimenting, moving clips a lot so I think that's the way I made it...lol

Date: 2009-05-03 01:45 pm (UTC)I use Sony Vegas Pro 8 but I'm still learning too. Not just how to make effects but how to use them in the right place and find the right measure.
Anyway, I believe that the song and combination of clips make one vid beautiful. Effects can make a vid that has that better or ruin it completely.
